Hello everybody,
Looks like it's election time again! We're undergoing a change so the Congress will now be the Congressional Cabinet and the name of the country will be the Republic of Noland. For the next three months, it'll be like a trial run of the new democratic government so I'll still be Prince and I can revert Noland back to a monarchy if I want. However, after these three months if it all went well we can keep this system.
We'll do elections in a slightly staggered manner. First we'll do the elections for Prime Minister. If you want to run, please notify your party leader or if you're independent, notify me. Please make sure that all nominations are posted here. You can create your own party if you want, just submit it to me for approval first. Each party can nominate up to one half of their total party members in Congress, rounded up with a minimum of one. That will go from April 28 to April 30. Then the public will vote in the primaries to narrow it down to two candidates from May 1 to May 3 and then the final vote between the two candidates will take place from May 4 to May 7. Vice Minister elections will happen after that, with details to come and then elections to all of the other positions will take place. I may change the schedule at any time if I wish.
The elections for different positions will be held throughout the month but all officials will take their seats on June 1.
I look forward to a new era in Noland.
Also, this is my 100th post! Yay!

You have to ask Mr. Langford first, because he chooses the party nominations. The EAP also can only nominate one candidate, so you'll unfortunately have to run as independent. However, you can pledge support to the EAP if you're an independent.

OK. I am sorry about that. I will run as an independent, then. I'm still new to the rules around here, so .

If Mr. Tenebaum is interested, he can later join the Vice Minister elections, under the Equality Alliance Party and in turn, the EAP shall construct support for him.

Okay, so I retain my position as leader of Noland. Yay! Next up is the Vice Minister. I've decided that the PM should appoint his own VM (which I can do because there isn't even a constitution m8) so without further ado, I appoint Horatio Eden as my Vice Minister. Congratulations!

We'll be holding elections for the rest of the Congressional Cabinet simultaneously now, namely Secretary of Government, Secretary of Diplomatic Relations, Secretary of Domestic Affairs, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Economy, Secretary of Culture, and Chief Justice. One can run for as many of these positions as one wants, but one must first specify which is one's first priority, and then second and so on. One can only be elected to one position in the Cabinet so the only two people not allowed to run are myself and Horatio Eden on behalf of already being in the Cabinet. Please post on this thread if you wish to run and you can run for a party if you want and parties can have as many people running as they wish, seeing as multiple elections are running simultaneously and as one can run for multiple positions. Please consider running.
Positions available:
Secretary of Government: Supervises the Government and makes sure it doesn't get out of hand. Doesn't have any more power to step in and change things than the other Cabinet members do, but is just supposed to bring the Cabinet's attention to the Government whenever if goes wrong.
Secretary of Diplomatic Relations: Pretty self-explanatory. I'd like to see this position go to an internarional citizen, but that's just me. Head of the Department of Diplomatic Relations, with six other officials in it.
Secretary of Domestic Affairs: A real biggie. Oversees everything rhat goes on internally in Noland. Head of the large Department of Domestic Affairs with fifteen other officials. I'd like to see this spot go to a local citizen.
Secretary of Defense: Head of the Military. Five other officials are in the Military.
Secretary of Economy: Head of Economy. Three other officials are in the Department of Economy.
Secretary of Culture: Head of Culture. Four other officials are in the Department of Culture.
Chief Justice: Head of the Judiciary. There are six other Justices in the Court. The Chief Sheriff is also employed in the Judicial Division.
NOMINATIONS CLOSE MAY 12. Please run!
