And as John, our Prince, looked upon the face of the Forum God, He issued these commandments to the people.
1. Thou shalt not swear. I'm personally fine if you swear, but there might be people on the forums who might not appreciate it.
2. Thou shalt not post unhelpful comments. Seriously, who wants to read a post like "I agree"? It just reduces the overall quality of the forums.
3. Thou shalt be formal when formality is in order and informal when formality is not in order. The Congress and Supreme Court boards should be kept as formal as possible. After all, they are the official venue for the government of this country. However, feel free to be as informal as you want outside of these boards.
4. Thou shalt not dabble in the dark arts of thread necromancy. Thread necromancy is when you post on a thread that has long since been dead. For example, if the last post was in August, please please PLEASE don't reply if it's January.
5. Thou shalt not anger thine rulers. If you break any one of these rules or do something else inappropriate, one of the moderators or I will issue a warning and if the same activity happens again, we will ban you. If you feel that you have been unfairly ruled against, please contact the Prince.
6. If thou workest hard, thou shalt be rewarded. If I notice that you are active on the forums and/or an influential member of the community, I will reward you with some kind of forum promotion (for example, moderator) or noble promotion (Viscount or something).
7. Thou shalt not advertise. Unless you're like "Hey guys! Check out this new micronational newspaper I made that you'll enjoy", please don't advertise.
8. Thou shalt not self-aggrandise. Please don't make your signature take up 20 pages. If you really want to, put it in a spoiler so we don't all have to drown in your giant ego everytime you post.
9. Thou shalt be kind unto newbies. If we don't welcome newbies, we'll never grow as a community.
10. Thou shalt be kind to thine homeland. Please don't join the forums just to yell about how awful you think Noland is.
